What does purchasing a license mean?

    - Purchasing a License means that you have purchased THE RIGHT to use our icons, vector graphics, or templates, you're not actually purchasing the icon set, vector graphic, template.
We don't send our clients files via email. You can download the file (you purchased a license for) directly from our site.
Before you purchase a license, please download the icon set, vector graphic, or template you're interested in. The files available for download are the same files you are getting after you purchase a License. After the purchase, we will send you a unique License Key. The License Key has legal significance and grants you the right to use our work under the Commercial/Extended License terms of use. Please make sure you keep it safe in your records.

    Choosing the suitable License

We strongly advise you to read our Licensing very carefully so you know which is the suitable license for your usage. If you have any additional questions regarding our Licensing, the DryIcons Team is always available to answer all your questions.
If you purchase the wrong license for your project, your License will not be considered valid and may result in an immediate termination of the License, and with it, your rights to use the Licensed Material.

    The Free License in short

The Free License is intended to be used primarily in projects that won't be bringing you financial benefit. If you're getting paid for a project where our Works are being used, we should be paid for our work, as well. In that manner, the Free License can not be used in projects from which you will earn money.
Also, the Free License only applies to web-related projects, because using our Works (icons, vector graphics and web templates) with the Free License requires putting a publicly accessible (through the WWW) back-link to our website.
And finally, modifying the Works is not allowed with the Free License. Instead, you can use them "AS IS".
You are welcomed to use our Works in any kind of web-related project, as long as you're not going to have financial benefit from it and agree to put a publicly accessible back-link to our website on every page where our icons are being used.

Are DryIcons' Works (icons, icon sets, graphics, templates) really free of charge?

    - Yes, all Works can be used free of charge, but only if you comply to the Free License Terms of Use. Please read our Free License carefully so you know what you can and can not do.

Can I use your Icons or Graphics in printed material, or non-web projects, with the Free License?

    - No, you can't. Using our Works with the Free License is only limited to web related projects. Our Free License states:

"...you can use our icons, icon sets, graphics and web templates in any publicly accessible web site, web application or any form of presentation publicly accessible through the World Wide Web only according to the DryIcons Free License Terms and Conditions..."

Using our Works in non-web projects requires purchasing a Commercial, or an Extended License.

I'm working on a personal (friend's) website (application, software) for free (pro-bono) and want to use some of your icons and vector graphics. Can I use them with the Free License?

    - Yes, you can. If you agree to put a publicly accessible (through the WWW) back-link to our website on every page where our icons/graphics are being used. And if the application (software) you're working on is not going to be for sale.

I'm developing a website (application, software) for a client, can I use your icons (vectors) with the Free License if I put a back-link to your website?

    - No, you can't. The Free License doesn't allow selling, as stated here:

    "What you CAN NOT DO:

    b. You may not sell our Works. If you're going to earn money from a project where our Works are being used, then you may not use the Free License;"

In other words, if you're getting paid for a project where our Works are being used, we should be paid for our work, as well. Projects like this require purchasing a Commercial, or an Extended License.

I would like to use one of your vectors as a Background image for my website. The Free License states that all Works can be used "AS IS", but I need to resize and crop the image a bit, so it fits perfectly. Is this acceptable?

    - Yes it is. Modifying the vector's size to fit in your website is totally acceptable, even though it's considered to be a modification. The same goes for our Icons, if you need a size that we don't have, you are welcomed to create the size you need.

I would like to use some of your icons for my website project. Can I just change the icon color, so the icons fit my existing color scheme?

    - No, you can't. Our Free License states that all icons and vectors can be used only "As Is". Changing the color of an icon is a modification.

I'm developing a free software and would like to link to your website, but I can't have the link on every page. Can I put the link in the About page only?

    - Please contact us on contact[@]dryicons.com and tell us about your project.

Can I use your icons with the Free License in a free Mobile Phone Application I'm developing?

    - No, you can't. The Free License requires putting a publicly accessible (through the WWW) back-link to our website on every page where our icons are being used. Since users aren't able to link to our website from their mobile phone applications, the Free License is not suitable for this use.

If you don't intend to sell your Mobile Phone Application, instead you're offering it for free download, or it's for personal use, then purchasing a Commercial License for the icons will be needed in order to use the icons legally.
If you plan to sell the Application to an unlimited number of people, then you need to purchase an Extended License.

I have developed a free website template and would like to use your icons with the Free License. The template is going to be available for free download. Can I use your icons if I put a link on every page where the icons are being used?

    - Yes, you can.

I have a website on which I share free downloads. Can I put your icons(vectors, templates) for free download from my website if I put a back link?

    - Absolutely not! This is considered redistributing and is definitely not allowed. Users that do that have no respect for our hard work and good cause.
If you find our icons available for free download at a website other than DryIcons, please contact us!

    The Commercial License in short

The basic idea behind the Commercial License is to allow usage of our icons without the obligation to put a back link to DryIcons.
Also, as the name suggests, the Commercial License is intended to be used in commercial (advertising) purposes (products) that are not intended to be sold, or are intended to be sold but only to one (1) of your clients. Example, you have a client that requires a website, or a software, and you are going to sell this website/software only once, to your client. In such case you can use the Commercial License.

I would like to use your Icons on my website, but I don't want to put a back-link to your website. Which license is suitable for such usage?

    - Purchasing a Commercial License will grant you the right to use our icons without having to link to our website.

If I purchase a Commercial License, will I be getting the original .psd files?

    - No, you won't. Purchasing a Commercial License means that you have bought yourself (your company) the Right to use our Works accordingly to the Commercial License Terms of Use.
Providing clients with original icon files is a paid service.

Our company would like to use one of your vector graphics in promotional materials, like flyers, posters, badges...Is the Commercial License suitable for this use?

    - Yes, it is. The main purpose of the Commercial License is exactly that.

Can I use one detail of your vector graphics as my company logo?

    - No, you can't. The Commercial License and even the Extended License doesn't allow using our Works (as part, or whole) as your logo. You are allowed, however, to use our Works to decorate your Corporate identity documents (business cards, letterhead..).
We do have an on-demand Logo License for such usage. Please contact us for more details, if interested in obtaining a Logo License.

The Free License only allows using your Works "AS IS", if I purchase a Commercial License, will I be allowed to make changes and modifications?

    - Yes, you can.

I'm developing an iPhone application, which is not going to be for sale, but shared freely. Is the Commercial License suitable for this?

    - Yes, the Commercial License is suitable for such usage.

    The Extended License in short

Use our Works with the Extended License if you want to sell your product to an unlimited number of clients. The basic purpose of the Extended License is to allow you to use our Works within any product/software/application that's going to be sold or distributed both physically and electronically.

I create web templates, which I sell. Does your Extended License allow me to use your icons in my templates?

    - The Extended License allows you to sell your templates to unlimited number of clients. However, it does not allow reselling. Reselling is considered when you sell your template to a website that sells different templates from different designers, and they resell the template to their users, this is reselling and it is not allowed.

If I build web templates that use your icons, am I able to offer those templates with reselling rights? In other words, I want to develop web pages (templates) that others can sell.

    - That's not allowed by our Extended License. You are granted the opportunity to be able to sell your designs to an unlimited number of customers. If your customers want to resell your template, they would have to purchase an Extended License as well.

I create iPhone/Blackberry applications/themes. Can I use your icons within my application?

    - Yes, you can certainly use our icons within your application if you purchase an Extended License.

Can I use one of your icons as my Application icon if I purchase the Extended License?

No, our icons can not be used as an application icon with the Extended License. Such usage requires purchasing an on-demand Logo License, please contact us for more details.

    - Yes, you can.

    - Yes, it is.

If I purchase an Extended License, will I be getting the original .psd files?

    - No, you won't. Purchasing an Extended License means that you have bought yourself (your company) the Right to use our Works accordingly to the Extended License Terms of Use.

I am a digital scrapbook designer and was wondering what license would be applicable to be using your vectors?

    - If you're going to sell your scrapbook (with our vectors included), you need to purchase an Extended License. If you're doing this free of charge, and don't intend to sell your scrapbook, you need to purchase a Commercial License.

My company builds custom applications for other companies, which are used internally by their own employees. Which license is most suitable for such usage and does each of our clients need to just purchase their own commercial license?

    - The Commercial License allows selling to one client at a time. If your company builds custom applications for different clients and sells them to one client at a time, you qualify for the Commercial License.
The Extended License is suitable for reselling, so if you build an application and want to sell in to an unlimited number of clients (ex. iPhone apps), then the Extended License is the suitable license for such usage.
